This is the virtual hub for updates about Australia's bid to host COP31 with the Pacific.
Australia is committed to our bid to host COP31 in 2026 in partnership with the Pacific. Australia’s bid has received strong support from Pacific leaders and international partners. This includes many countries in the Western European and the Other States United Nations regional group that Australia is a member of, who are due to nominate a host for COP31.
Australia is making early preparations and is engaging with Pacific partners to discuss how COP31 could be delivered, in genuine partnership, should our bid be successful.
COP31 would aim to show our region’s unique challenges and solutions to the world, and to accelerate global climate action, the net zero transformation, and investment in climate solutions. It’s an opportunity to bring Australia and the Pacific to the world.
