About: Anil Bhatta is a leading expert in carbon markets and the founder of Carbon & Clean Energy Solutions (CCES). Before founding CCES, he managed Standard Bank London’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) technical function, including quality assurance of the largest carbon portfolio in Africa. Anil has a formal engineering background with over a decade of experience in carbon markets and climate change mitigation projects. He has advised inter-governmental international development organizations, country governments, NGOs, financial institutions and multinational companies on various national and international carbon market opportunities in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.   At present, he is leading the development of a pilot Article 6.2 Mitigation Activity for a European government client and advising an inter-governmental international development organization on Article 6 compliant Mitigation Activity Design Document.   Anil has previously worked as International Head - CDM Projects and Head of Carbon Advisory roles in a number of firms in Australia. Anil has dual Masters Degrees in Engineering in Sustainable Energy and Engineering Management.

About:  At Climate Analytics, Anna is involved in the Climate Action Tracker project, assessing climate policy, targets, and projections for Asia Pacific countries  such as  Australia. Anna is currently working on country policy analysis for the 1.5°C National  Pathway    explorer    project    to    show    how    countries    can    align    their decarbonisation trajectories with the Paris Agreement. Anna contributes to the Climate Transparency project, the world’s most comprehensive annual review of G20 countries’ climate action and their transition to net-zero emissions.

About:  John has 30 years’ experience in the Australian and global clean energy and clean technology sectors and now leads Deloitte’s decarbonisation work in Australia. He works extensively with global clients on translating decarbonisation ambitions into practical financial and strategic actions. John is also Deloitte’s Global Lead for decarbonisation in the Mining and Metals sector.

John started his career in the oil & gas industry in Scotland and Syria, engineering roles in London and Adelaide before joining Origin Energy in corporate development. In 2007, John established Australian CleanTech, a boutique advisory firm that led the development of the cleantech sector in Australia for ten years.  

John is widely published with his most recent book, Visions 2100, launched at the Paris COP21 Climate Conference in 2015. The next the book is planned for launch in Glasgow at COP26 and will set out practical steps of what is likely to happen locally and globally over the next decade.

Lisa has also worked with the Queensland Conservation Council and the ACT Government. Lisa loves exploring the outdoors. She is based on the land of the Jagera and Turrbal Nations (Brisbane).

About: Foundations for Tomorrow (FFT) is a non-partisan youth-lead NFP supported by the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. This year FFT conducted a national youth consultation with a focus on climate change that garnered more than 10,000 responses, making it one of the largest of its kind to date. The scale and inclusive nature of this initiative was made possible by a national team of 30+ volunteers and the forging of 40+ partnerships with schools, youth/community organisations and youth employers. The findings from this consultation have been captured in the Awareness to Action Report, with further data and analysis - comparing regional, rural and urban climate sentiment - being released over the coming weeks. FFT's work now focuses on the advancement of climate policy, the effective engagement of young Australians and the protection of future interests in industry and government policy development.
